Meditation is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle and can help restore and rejuvenate the mind and body easily with a few minutes a day.  Chi-kung means “Breath or energy work or cultivation”.  Chi-Kung practice typically involves moving meditation, coordinating slow-flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and a calm meditative state of mind. Chi-Kung is practiced as meditation and self-cultivation as part of various philosophical traditions. As meditation, Chi-Kung is a means to still the mind and enter a state of consciousness that brings serenity, joy, mental clarity, and bliss.  Many practitioners find Chi-Kung, with its gentle focused movement, to be healthier and more accessible than seated meditation.

This 3-week workshop is designed for the beginner and others who are interested in learning more about meditation and Chi Kung and starting their own routine. The following will be discussed:

  • What is meditation?
  • The benefits of meditation
  • Basic chi-kung techniques
  • Breath work
  • Meditation and chi kung and health
